On Lake Cascade the beaches are all public. In order to accommodate the property owners whose lots are not on the lakefront, the subdivision plats allow for an “easement lot”. The idea being that folks in the interior can access the beaches without trespassing on the lakefront owners.
The Donnelly Cabin is situated on Lot 46 of the Big Smoky #2 Subdivision. The easement lot, Lot 53, is just to the south. We pay an annual membership assessment to the association for this common lot which maintains a few amenities like a dock and a picnic table. You may never want or need to use the access lot, but keep it in mind as a place to hang out in the event you arrive before check in or want to stay at the lake for a while after check out.
The easement lot is very near the intersection of Sandy and Dawn.
ANOTHER ACCESS LOT
Please note that there is another access lot for Big Smoky #1 Sub. You most likely will drive by it on your way to the cabin. It is on Sandy Drive to the north of the cabin and is also suitable for hanging out.
